TREE CHIPPING PROGRAM
Don’t forget about our Christmas Tree Chipping Program. Recycle your Christmas tree after the holidays. Parks & Recreation will chip it and use chips for park trails. If we get a huge pile, residents are welcome to take some home for your garden. Don’t forget to remove decorations before drop off. Drop off trees at the WREC OR WCP in the designated areas of the parking lot from January 1-30, 2012.

Bingo games begin at 7:00 PM DOORS OPEN AT 6:00 PM
Tickets: $40 in advance, or $45 at the door (if available)
Tickets include - 20 games of Bingo with chef’s choice hors’ d’ouvre buffet and beer & wine bar from 6:30-9:30 PM. (Must be 21 to Play/Enter). No outside food will be permitted in the clubhouse.

Parks and Recreation is sponsoring our annual Wine & Cheese Basket Bingo party! Proceeds from this fun night will benefit the building fund for Warminster Community Park. AMATEUR PHOTO CONTEST
- Warminster’s Winter Wonderland
January 1 to March 1, 2012 FREE!
All amateur photographers are invited to grab your camera and snap a shot of Winter Wonderland in Warminster. Parks & Recreation is looking for photos that area residents think best represent “Winter in Warminster”. So, hop out of the car to snap the perfect sunset (remember to put the car in park), or take some of the kids playing in the snow. Whatever your shot, download the rules and entry form from the Township website: www.warminstertownship.org or from the page of the directory and submit your photos to the Parks and Recreation Department before March 1, 2012. Maximum five (5) entries/person.

All photos will be judged by Karen Lentz of M&H Custom Framing in Warminster. Winner will receive $50 gift certificate from M&H Custom Framing and the winning photo will be displayed the WREC. (All photos will be displayed on the township website after the contest).

You must include your name, phone number and location of the picture in Warminster. Please, no professional photographers.  Click here for the form.


NAME THAT PARK!
In 2006, the Township purchased a 14 acre parcel of open space from Christ Home. As we begin development, we need residents to assist with naming of this new parcel. The park shall remain fairly passive with a walking trail connecting Cloverly to Norristown Road, small parking lot by Norristown Road, open space for play and a tot lot. Warminster residents are invited to submit names via email or postcard. Email your suggestions to recreation@warminstertownship.org or send your suggestion to “Name That Park”, 1101 Little Lane, Warminster Pa 18974. Be sure to include your name, address and phone number on the card or email. All entries must be submitted by March 1, 2012.

SKATE JAM

Time: 1:00-4:00 PM
The Skate Spot Committee will host an equipment fundraiser at Munro Park Skate Spot. Come see the new equipment that has been installed and help raise funds for more! $5/person donation to participate in the event. Contests, music, food.

January 21 & 22 – weather permitting,
we hope to have a community build for the next pieces of equipment for the skate spot.

COMMUNITY PARK PICK UP
Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful by volunteering for a community cleanup, any day, April 14-29, 2012. Volunteers are invited to help clean up park & public areas in the community. If you live near a park, retention basin, school, or public facility, spend some time making it more beautiful. Parks & Recreation will supply trash bags and certificates will be awarded to all volunteers who register. Contact the Parks & Recreation Department for more info: (215) 443-5428.

RUBBER DUCKY REGATTA
Sunday, May 20, 2012
1:00 PM @ Kemper Park
Once again, Parks & Recreation presents this hilarious family event for its 17th consecutive year. Hundreds of Rubber Duckies float down the Neshaminy Creek to compete in a race to the finish line. Your duck(s) could win and you could receive prizes totaling $500.00. Numbered ducks will be placed in the water in Kemper Park and duck marshals will be on hand to retrieve them. Official ducky number tickets may be purchased at the WREC, Township Building Tax Office and Library. The more ducks you buy, the better your chances! Tickets donated by CP Printing.

TICKETS ARE:
$5.00/ Ducky or 5 Duckies for $20.00
You need not be present to WIN! Tickets sold day of the event (starting at Noon), until sold out!

“JUST DUCKY” PICNIC”
Prior to the Rubber Ducky Regatta, we'll be hosting a family picnic for all attendees. Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch and we'll supply dessert with help from Rita's Water Ice. Immediately following the Regatta there will be a 1/2 hour of family games and activities (weather permitting).


SUMMER CHILDREN’S THEATER OPEN AUDITIONS
Looking for friends, fun & adventure? Boys and girls, ages 12-18, are invited to audition for Summer Children’s Theater on Monday & Tuesday, May 7 & 8 @ 7:00 PM @ the WREC. This summer’s production will be the classic fairy tale – “Princess and the Pea”! Must be available for late July production. Look for more info in the summer directory or call (215) 443-5428.
